Vino 100 will present the next entry in its “Meet the Winemaker” series Friday, Aug. 26, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Up this time is Jim Milone, a fourth-generation wine grower who has been making wine for over 30 years in the Sanel Valley Vineyards in Mendocino.
His goal in winemaking is to create wines that are true extensions of the grape, vineyard and “terroir,” or flavor of the land.
“If you want to make great wine, you must first grow excellent grapes,” Milone says. “Nurture the grapes organically and do as little as possible to the wine.”
He will be visiting Vino 100 and presenting his delicious, organically grown estate wines from Terra Savia Winery.
Terra Savia produces artisan organic wines as well as extra olive oil and honey with a special committment toward land conservation and wildlife preservation. They grow their own fruit on their land and control the process from the field to the bottle.
As certified organic farmers they adhere to strict quality control and the highest standards of organic certification.
Not only will guests taste wonderful wines with light, refreshing appetizers, but there will be entertainment, too, from jazz guitarist Harry Orlove.
Cost is $15 per person. To reserve a seat call 661-294-6886. Vino 100 is located at 28112 Newhall Ranch Road in Valencia.
