SCV Sheriff’s detectives are still hopeful someone in the community will step forward with information leading to an arrest in a nearly two-week-old school vandalism case.
No leads have surfaced that would point deputies to the culprits behind the damage inflicted overnight Aug. 17-18 at Castaic Middle School, Detective Dan Finn said Tuesday.
Someone entered the multipurpose room, band room and other areas of the school on Hillcrest Parkway that night and trashed musical instruments, ripped out electrical wiring and spray-painted graffiti.
Deputies have no suspect descriptions and are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
Finn, of the COBRA Unit, can be reached at 661-799-5153. Deputy Brian Rooney, the zone leader for the Castaic area, can be reached at 661-255-1121, ext. 4283.
They’ll gladly follow anonymous tips, too. To report a lead in this case anonymously – or in any case – call LA Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) or text the letters TIPLA and your information to CRIMES (274637), or visit http://lacrimestoppers.org.
