This week’s SCVTV/California Superstores Outstanding Student of the Week is Sean Scofield from Hart.
Sean is ranked No. 1 in the class of 2012, carries a 4.72 GPA and scored 2300 on the SAT. He knows he is preparing himself now for his life ahead.
“I know that this is the training ground for life and if I want to get into a good college obviously I have to get good grades here,” Sean said. “And if I go to a good college I know I’ll have a better chance of going somewhere for a good career.”
Sean is also a member of the Indian’s cross country team. His participation has taught him something that he carries through to his academics and his life.
“Something I’ve realized only recently is it’s a sport of long-term goals,” he said. “It’s taught me to be patient and wait for something because it takes weeks or months to get yourself in shape and train to get a better time for your races.”
Doing well in school also had a benefit Sean wasn’t expecting.
“There (are) some classes that I’m not as good at,” Sean said. “And I feel accomplished when you work hard in something you’re not as good at to get better. When you realize you’ve accomplished that goal it’s just… You feel good about yourself.”
Congratulations to Sean Scofield of Hart High School, our SCVTV/California Superstores Outstanding Student of the Week.
