“A Christmas Carol: The Musical” is a vibrant new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic holiday tale and the Canyon Theatre Guild is proud to present the West Coast premiere of this delightful show. The lively music and spirited dialogue will raise the spirits of audiences of all ages.
Charles Dickens himself will guide us on Scrooge’s journey to re-discover the holiday spirit. Dickens introduces Scrooge to a cavalcade of colorful characters and a ghostly quartet of guardians. His first ghostly visitor is Jacob Marley, his former business partner who appears with a ghostly chorus to prepare Scrooge for what is to follow.
Christmas Past takes Scrooge back to his early years as a lonely young boy at boarding school, then to his apprenticeship at Fezziwig’s shop, where Scrooge sees how his love of money and his desire for success tears his engagement apart. Then, Christmas Present shows him the joys and celebrations being enjoyed by others in London. Here he meets Bob Cratchit’s family, and Tiny Tim. The fearsome Spirit of Christmas Yet-To-Come shows Scrooge what will happen if he continues on his present course.
“A Christmas Carol: The Musical” features TimBen Boydston as Scrooge, Randy Aronson as Charles Dickens, John Morris as Marley’s Ghost and Michael Davies as the exuberant Ghost of Christmas Present. Making his CTG debut is Brad Alden Mowry as Bob Cratchit, with Alexis Crane as Mrs. Cratchit, Joshua Larralde as Tiny Tim and Kate Wisdom, Daniella Steele and Gregory Rosenberg as the rest of the Cratchit children. CTG newcomer Barbi Radd is featured as the Ghost of Christmas Past and Mrs. Dilber, the charwoman, Bill Steele is Fezziwig, and Allie Monheim is Mrs. Fezziwig and Mrs. Filch, Scrooge’s laundry woman.
