The Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival is holding auditions for its summer production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, produced by David Stears and directed by award-winning director Mark McQuown. The vision for the production is post-apocalyptic, re-industrial era, or steampunck.
Auditions are April 28th from 10 – 4 pm. All roles are available. Casting is race and gender blind. Non-equity.
The production opens July 14th and runs three weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) in July. There is preview performance July 13th. The Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival performs at their new outdoor home at Towsley Canyon in Santa Clarita.
Additionally, SCSF is looking for theatre artists for the production: a scenic artist, a lighting designer, and an associate festival producer, technical director, and a theatrical puppet artist.
Auditions for this summer’s Macbeth will be held Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Actors are expected to prepare a 2-minute classical monologue, and be familiar with the play. Actor interested in auditioning should contact the company at info@scshakespearefest.org.
