Along with members of the Armenian diplomatic corps, clergy and business community, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich proclaimed April 24, 2012 as “Day of Remembrance for the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923” throughout Los Angeles County.

On April 24, 1915, the Turkish government began the systematic extermination of the Armenian community.  Religious, political and intellectual Armenian leaders were among the 1.5 million victims who were arrested and murdered.

“Due to this horrible tragedy, the Armenian community is committed to ensuring that those who have died, were tortured and tattooed during this are never forgotten,” said Antonovich.  “By consistently remembering and openly condemning the atrocities committed against the Armenians, Los Angeles County demonstrates its sensitivity to the need for constant vigilance to prevent similar events in the future.”

“Los Angeles County is home to the largest population of Armenians in the United States, and they have enriched our County through their leadership in the fields of business, agriculture, academia, medicine, government and the arts,” he added.

*In 1064 a large Seljuk Turkish army, headed by Sultan Alp Arslan, with the help of the Caucasian Georgians headed by King Bagrat, attacked Ani **and after a siege of 25 days they captured the city and slaughtered its population. An account of the sack and massacres in Ani is given by the Arab historian Sibt ibn al-Gawzi, who quotes an eyewitness saying:

“The army entered the city, massacred its inhabitants, pillaged and burned it, leaving it in ruins and taking prisoner all those who remained alive…The dead bodies were so many that they blocked the streets; one could not go anywhere without stepping over them. And the number of prisoners was not less than 50,000 souls. I was determined to enter city and see the destruction with my own eyes. I tried to find a street in which I would not have to walk over the corpses; but that was impossible.” (ref: wikipedia 2010)

“…To validate a spurious genocide allegations, the Armenians curry favor with the Jewish people, and manipulate the Holocaust tragedy to gain some undeserved recognition from this uniquely Jewish experience. Historical evidences point to a devious Armenian collusion with Hitler to exterminate the Jews during WW II. Today, no matter how much the Armenians try to conceal this heinous episode from the public knowledge the Armenian conspiracy with Hitler is in the history books — indelibly. Soon it will be in the public conscience too… In early 1930s, when Hitler ascended to power, he began cultivating the Armenians to use their long-standing and strong anti-semitic feelings in his plans and policy. The Armenians, through their publications, radio broadcasts and meetings supported and cheered the Nazis on their attacks on Jews. Alfred Rosenberg, who was to become later Hitler’s Minister of the Occupied Territories, declared that the Armenians were Indo-European, or Aryans, which honored them and put them in the same league with the Nazis. In Hitler’s foreign policy the Armenians fitted very nicely too. Hitler’s future invasion plans of Russia provided a golden opportunity for the Armenians to liberate what they considered to be “Historic Armenia” from the Soviet as well as the Turkish rule…”

Remember; First Prime Minister of the Independent Armenian Republic, Hovhannes Katchaznouni’s own manifesto under the name of “Dashnagtzoutiun has nothing to do anymore” in Bucharest in April 1923 (was found in Russian arhives) is saying that there was no genocide took place. The Armenian volunteer units were unconditionally allied with Russia, they massecred the Muslim population , Turkey had acted with an instict of self-defence and Turks have no reason to regret today..This is the manifesto of the first Armenian Prime Minister in 1923. (Translated from the original by Mathew A.Callender,Edited by John Roy Carlson (Arthur A.Derounian) ,published by the Armenian Information Service, suite 7D, 471 Park Avenue, New York 22. 1955) (Note: its copies were removed from the libraries in Europe by the Dashnagziun members, this document was found in Lenin Library in Moscow.)
