Cole Plasschaert and Grace Alcedo of Santa Clarita Valley Tennis Aces each won runner-up trophies at the USTA-sanctioned Rancho Cienega Junior Spring Tennis Tournament in Los Angeles.
For 10-year-old Cole, it was his first junior tournament. It was the second runner-up trophy of Grace’s young career. Both competed in the 10-and-under category (B10U and G10U).
Connor Schloemer placed eighth in a field of 10 in boys 12 and under, but at 9 years old he was the youngest competitor of the group. This was Schloemer’s second tournament in B12Us.
Luke Plasschaert, 8, retired in second match of B10Us due to an upset stomach.
About SCV Tennis Aces
SCVTA was founded on the principle of growing tennis and fitness while achieving academic excellence and is the first program of its kind developing and building talent from the grass roots in the Santa Clarita Valley. SCVTA also hopes to extend its reach to the wheel-chair bound and children with special needs, developmental and physical disabilities. To achieve this, SCVTA looks for donors who might share the same mission as we do to keep kids in school and reach those who are challenged economically, developmentally and physically. Every donation provides much needed money back to our organization to help with future programs.
