F.C.S.C. Storm, Santa Clarita’s professional minor league soccer club, gave up two second half goals to settle for a 2-2 tie with F.C. Hasental of Thousand Oaks Saturday at Cal Lutheran.
In the 28th minute, one minute after a Storm goal was disallowed due to of-sides, Alex Harley got a pass to Matthew Shaxton who put it in the back of the net for a 1-0 Santa Clarita lead. Harley was later issued a red card for pushing.
In the 62nd minute, Wayne Lampert carried the ball down the left sideline, got a pass through a group of defenders to Shaxton, who then looped the ball in the air. Tyler Coombes, the Storm’s leading sorer, then headed the ball into the net to put the Storm up 2-0.
Hasental took advantage of being a man up due to Harley’s ejection and scored twice in the closing minutes to finish the game in a tie.
The Storm remains undefeated in the Southwest Conference at 2-2-0 (International scoring). F.C. Hasental gets its first tie of the season to go with a win and two losses (1-1-2).
The Storm will next travel to San Diego to face the Flash, a team that is also undefeated at 2-1-0.
