Join acclaimed songwriter, producer and keyboardist Kevin Savigar for a free interactive discussion of his music industry career on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 7 p.m. The “New Heights” workshop will be hosted at Santa Clarita City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd.

“This workshop is a great way for Santa Clarita artists and arts organizations to learn about the skill sets needed to advance to new heights from someone with an impressive resume in the music industry,” commented Mayor Frank Ferry.

Kevin Savigar has created many recordings for a wide range of artists, including: Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, John Mellencamp, Pat Benatar, Marilyn Manson, Willie Nelson, Randy Newman, Sinead O’Connor, Peter Frampton and many others.  He has won four American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) awards, along with many Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awards for sales totaling over 40 million records.

New Heights is one class in an ongoing series of City art themed workshops designed to expand local artist’s skill levels and knowledge in various fields.

About Kevin Savigar

Kevin Savigar was born in London and moved to Los Angeles several years ago. He is an acclaimed session keyboardist, producer, songwriter and composer, and has contributed to many recordings by a wide range of artists including Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, John Mellencamp, Pat Benatar, Marilyn Manson, Willie Nelson, Randy Newman, Sinead O’Connor and Peter Frampton and many others. He has won 4 ASCAP awards for his songs along with many platinum and gold RIAA awards for sales totalling over 40 million records. Some of his songs include “Forever Young”, “Young Turks”, “Passion”, “Tonite I’m Yours”, “Every Beat Of My Heart” (Rod Stewart); “Hold On” (Jamie Walters); “Cinderella” (The Cheetah Girls); “No Mistakes” (Patty Smyth); “Not Going Down” (Jo Dee Messina), and a recent number 1 record on the Billboard Hot Country charts with “Nothing To Lose” (Josh Gracin). His songs have also been featured in many major motion pictures, national commercials and TV shows over the years. He is currently working on projects in Nashville and Los Angeles and writing pop and country songs with some of the leading songwriters in the music industry for records, film and television.
