[TMC] – The Master’s College men’s basketball program and Coach Chuck Martin announce a final addition to their 2012-13 roster.
Reid Shackelford, a true freshman from Murrieta Valley High School, located in Murrieta, California, comes to the Mustangs with an impressive prep resume.
The 6-foot 175-pound point/combo guard averaged 17 points per game and was ninth in the state of California in three-point field goals made. Shackelford was named first-team All-Southwest Conference during his senior year and earned both first-team All-Temecula Valley and second-team All-CIF honors.
“We are delighted to have another young point/combo guard that we can develop and really fits here at The Master’s College,” stated Coach Martin. “Reid had an outstanding high school career and has proven himself to be a terrific shooter and ball handler. We love his toughness and competitive nature and are confident that that he will become very successful in the GSAC as he learns and develops as a college player.”
With the addition of Shackelford, the Mustangs’ 2012-13 recruiting class has been lifted to seven and will potentially develop the Mustangs in two main areas that need to be addressed in the coming season: size and athleticism.
The Mustangs finished the 2011-12 campaign with a 20-16 overall record and went 9-9 in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
The Mustangs’ season begins with the home opener against Simpson University on Nov. 3.
