A man who allegedly threatened a fellow passenger on a northbound Metrolink train Thursday morning has been arrested and charged with two felony counts, according to Sgt. Rich Nagler of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“A little after 7 this morning we got a call that a male Hispanic adult was threatening another adult with a pocketknife,” Nagler said. “Prior to anything happening, a conductor separated them and notified us of it. When the train stopped at the Via Princessa (station) at Weyerhauser, deputies detained the one individual and made an arrest.”
There was a short delay for commuters as the suspect was arrested, but no one was injured.
“The situation was diffused by the train conductor,” Nagler said.
The suspect, whose name and age have not yet been released, is being held at the SCV Sheriff’s Station, and has been charged with making criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon, Nagler said.
“The next step is for detectives to interview him,” Nagler said. “It’s an ongoing investigation.”
