U.S. Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon, R-Santa Clarita:
“Eleven years ago, our nation was forever changed in a single, fateful morning. We will never forget where we were when we heard the news that our nation had been attacked. Each morning since our strength and national resolve have been tested. Today, I join my fellow Americans in prayer and remembrance as we honor the memory of those who lost their lives in those horrific attacks. I offer my deepest and most heartfelt thanks to the hundreds of thousands of Americans and their families who have defended our country these past eleven years. We must remember the brave men and women still serving overseas and reaffirm our unwavering support for them and their mission.”
Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich:
“September 11th, 2001 was a dawn that will see no sunset. I was in Washington, D.C., on that fateful day and witnessed the devastating aftermath of the attack on the Pentagon. Today, we remember those that perished in Washington, Pennsylvania and in the World Trade Center, the heroic first responders and the men and women in our armed services fighting to protect our nation. To prevent future acts of terror, we must never forget September 11th and remain vigilant and prepared in our efforts to combat global terrorism.”
