U.S. Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon
[VIA] – U.S. Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon will square off against his Democratic challenger, Dr. Lee Rogers, in a special 25th Congressional District Candidates Forum to be hosted by the Valley Industry Association and the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 10 in Valencia.
McKeon, R-Santa Clarita, has confirmed he will participate in the luncheon event to be held at the Hyatt Regency Valencia — and, he has confirmed that this will be the only forum in which he will engage his challenger in a discussion of the issues.
Lee Rogers, M.D.
“We’re thrilled that both Congressman McKeon and Dr. Rogers have agreed to participate in the forum,” said VIA CEO/President Kathy Norris. “Citizens and businesses in our community will benefit from a robust debate of the issues that are central to this year’s election, and we’re very pleased to work together with the Chamber of Commerce to make this forum a reality. It’s a terrific cooperative effort by the two organizations.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available for $1,000, and those interested in sponsoring the forum should contact the VIA office for more information: (661) 294-8088 or admin@via.org. Also, $45 event tickets can be reserved by visiting the calendar section of the VIA website: https://www.via.org/Calendar/EventDetails.aspx?id=212
The forum is expected to feature media facilitators from several areas throughout the massive 25th Congressional District, which includes the Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys, portions of the San Fernando Valley and territory in San Bernardino, Tuolumne, Mono and Inyo counties.
“We know this event will sell out, so people should book their reservations early,” said Chamber President Terri Crain. “Members of both VIA and the Chamber, as well as the community at large, will be looking forward to hearing what Congressman McKeon and Dr. Rogers have to say, and we’re anticipating an energetic exchange of ideas.”
