The Hart football team is living up to its No. 1 ranking in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division.
The Indians won their fourth game in a row, 41-7, against Santa Monica and head into Foothill League play as the favorite to win the league championship.
Quarterback Brady White threw three touchdown passes and Connor Wingenroth rushed for 99 yards and caught a 10-yard touchdown pass.
Hart, however, was the only football team from the Foothill League to win on Friday night.
Canyon tied Steele Canyon, 49-49, after building a 20-point lead in the second half.
Canyon quarterback Cade Apsay had 333 yards passing and threw five touchdowns. Receiver Drew Wolitarsky caught seven passes for 107 yards and a touchdown for Canyon, the No. 6 team in the Southern Section Northern Division.
The Valencia football team lost to Loyola, 24-14, giving up 14 points in the fourth quarter in the game heard live on KHTS.
The Vikings, ranked No. 4 in the Northern Division, are 2-3 through the first five games of the season.
The Golden Valley football team lost its fifth game in a row, 44-12, to Simi Valley. The Grizzlies took a 12-7 lead on a touchdown run by Leon Jacobs in the second quarter before Simi Valley scored 37 unanswered points.
The Trinity football team blew out Liberty Christian, 68-6, and won its second game in a row. Quarterback Dakota Prochnow rushed for two touchdowns and threw two TD passes.
The Santa Clarita Christian football team shut out Southlands Christian, 66-0. The Cardinals were up 38-0 at halftime and 59-0 after three quarters.
In college football, College of the Canyons lost to Bakersfield College, 45-7.
The UCLA Bruins got back in the win column with a 42-14 win over Colorado. Valencia High graduate Steven Manfro caught two passes for 20 yards and returned five punts for 51 yards.
In baseball, the Dodgers are still alive in the playoff race after a 7-1 win over the Colorado Rockies. The Dodgers hit three, two-run home runs. They have three games left in the season, all against the San Francisco Giants, and are two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the final wild-card playoff spot.
The Dodgers and Giants begin their three-game series tonight at Dodger Stadium. Listen to the game on AM 1220, KHTS. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m.

I do not want a walmart at the mall. Every walmart store I’ve been to is dirty and there is trash everywhere in the parking lots and lots of people who have no respect. This will definately bring the reputation of the mall to a zero and the upscale customers will go back to northidge just like we did back in the day before the mall was built
