Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies are seeking the community’s help Thursday in finding a suspect who’s been accused of stabbing a man trying to stop him from siphoning his neighbor’s gas.
College of the Canyons student Joseph Carlos Beltran, 22, of Castaic, is accused of grabbing a writing instrument and trying to stab a Canyon Country man in the neck, after the man confronted him while stealing from the victim’s neighbor, according to Deputy Josh Dubin of the Satna Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The assault occurred in the first week of September. Deputies are now seeking Beltran on a $90,000 warrant in connection with the charges, Dubin said.
Beltran frequents the Canyon Country area. He may be driving a 1987 Mercedes Benz, white in color.
Anyone who sees Beltran or knows where he might be is asked to call the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
Do not approach the suspect or attempt to apprehend.
