A motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning in a collision with a sports utility vehicle at 7:15 a.m., said Officer Francisco Villalobos of the California Highway Patrol.
The deceased was described as a 20-year-old male, although the identification of the motorcycle rider was not released pending next-of-kin notification.
The collision took place on Highway 126 near Chiquito Canyon Road, officials said.
“We still have about four or five units on scene, we had one fatality at the scene,” Villalobos said. Coroner’s (Department) officers are investigating the scene, as we are investigating the incident.”
Traffic is likely to be impeded for at least the next hour while officers make their determination on the cause of the crash.
“Westbound lanes on the 126 are closed, and traffic is being allowed through using the right shoulder,” Villalobos said.
