Intertex Properties closed escrow Monday on its purchase of the Valencia Gateway Promenade. The retail center located at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 126 in Santa Clarita consists of 7 buildings that were constructed in 2007.
“The center has been mostly vacant since its completion due to a variety of factors, including the economic downturn,” said Darcey Oldhafer, development manager for Intertex Companies.

In addition to the 7 buildings, there is an additional 9,000 square feet of available pad space that can be used to for drive-thru restaurants, OldHafer added.
Intertex officials expect that the center will generate traffic and bring additional activity and revenue to the area.
Capelli Salon recently opened to accompany the existing Subway and Home Consignment Center located at the Gateway Promenade area. The center has also been heavily trafficked by multiple film crews for filming purposes.
Future tenants will include a church and a technology services provider, Hafer said.
“All of this added activity will benefit this northwest corner of Santa Clarita,” said Oldhafer.
