Snapshot 04/08/2013 – 04/014/2013

 

This week in the Zone 8 portion of Canyon Country we had 14 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there was 1 assault, 1 robbery, 3 residential burglaries, 4 larcenies, 1 vehicle burglary, 2 shoplifting incidents and 1 grand theft auto.

An assault occurred in the 18200 block of Soledad Canyon Road. During a verbal argument, a male assaulted the victim by hitting him over the head with a skateboard. A robbery occurred in the 27300 block of Sara Street. While the victim was talking on her cell phone an unknown suspect walked up from behind, grabbed her cell phone and ran away from the location.

A residential burglary occurred in the 29000 block of Dune Lane between Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. and Monday, April 08, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. The unknown suspect entered the apartment through a window and wrote graffiti on the walls, carpet and doors. A residential burglary occurred in the 18100 block of Sundowner Way between Sunday, April 07, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 5:25 a.m. The suspect made entry into the victim’s garage by damaging the deadbolt lock. Tools were stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the garage. A garage burglary occurred in the 18400 block of Jakes Way between Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:30 p.m. and Friday, April 12, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. The garage door was pulled open and several items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

A petty theft occurred from the Target store where a cell phone and credit cards were stolen after they were left unattended on a counter. A grand theft occurred in the 16800 block of Nearview Drive between Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 11:00 p.m. and Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. During the incident vehicle bench seats were stolen from the victim’s front porch. A grand theft occurred in the 27900 block of Tyler Lane between Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. and Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. A cell phone, jewelry, and credit cards were stolen from the victim’s home. There was no forced entry. A theft occurred in the 16700 block of Sierra Highway between Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. A welding tool was stolen from a vehicle which was parked at the location.

A vehicle burglary occurred at Sandy Drive and Anne’s Circle between Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. and Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. Carpet cleaner attachments were stolen from two separate vans. Entry was made by damaging the lock.

Several arrests were made by proactive deputies for various narcotics violations, assault and public intoxication. Two arrests for shoplifting were made at the Vons store.

There has been in increase in burglaries where items are being stolen from vehicles that are parked in the garage, unlocked. ALWAYS lock your vehicle.

Make sure to always park in well-lit areas and be cognizant of your surroundings. If you see any suspicious activity either close to your home or while you are out shopping, call the Sheriff’s station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
