Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
Last week in Canyon Country-East we had 15 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there was 1 aggravated Assault, 1 robbery, 3 residential burglaries, 1 commercial burglary, 2 vehicle burglaries, 1 shoplift, 1 grand theft, 1 petty theft and 1 stolen vehicle.
An aggravated assault occurred near the 27300 block of Manzanita Lane. The suspect approached the victim and attacked him while yelling racial slurs. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the lower torso. The victim was able to take the knife away from the suspect and the suspect fled out of view. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives.
A residential burglary occurred near the 27900 block of Solamint Road. When the victim awoke, she saw the suspect standing in the doorway of her bedroom. The suspect fled the location with electronic items and a small amount of US currency.
Another residential burglary occurred near the 15700 block of Alia Court. An unknown suspect broke into the victim’s house while the family was away on vacation and took several electronic items.
A commercial burglary occurred near the 19100 block of Golden Valley Road. Two suspects shattered a front window in order to gain entry into the location. They took several electronic devices before exiting through a rear emergency door.
A vehicle burglary occurred near Golden Valley Road/Via Princessa. The victim parked her vehicle in a lot before going hiking and when she returned, the front passenger side window was shattered and several personal items were taken from the vehicle.
A shoplift/burglary occurred near the 16500 of Soledad Canyon Road. A male suspect was detained by the store manager after he exited the location, failing to pay for items. The suspect was subsequently arrested by responding deputies.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle was taken near Sand Canyon Road/Placerita Canyon Road. The victim parked his motorcycle in a dirt parking lot approximately one mile south of Placerita Canyon Road prior to going hiking. When he returned, the motorcycle was gone.
