A body, engulfed in flames, was discovered at 6 AM near mile marker 5N32 on Lake Hughes Road. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide and Arson detectives are investigating circumstances around the crime scene.
The incident began after 6:00 AM when a passerby reported a small brush fire to emergency services. Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters extinguished a fire at the site and found charred remains.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department tent has been erected over the scene and Lake Hughes Road has been closed as authorities continue their investigation. An identification has not been made as of 10:00 AM.
Boats and divers with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Parks Patrol and Lake operations continue to search Castaic Lake area for missing teen, Bryce Laspisa, according to LASD Parks Bureau twitter. The incident remains unrelated.
