KHTS[KHTS] Officials with the District Attorney’s Office dismissed the charges against a man who was initially identified as a suspect in the stabbing of two men outside of The VU Bar and Lounge.

A courtroom official confirmed prosecutors dropped assault with a deadly weapon charges against Robert Arvizu, 47, of Newhall on Tuesday morning.

Arvizu was arrested shortly after a pair of stabbings that took place following an altercation in a parking lot near the bar.

Original Story

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives are investigating a Newhall stabbing that took place around 12:50 a.m. Saturday near The VU Bar and Lounge, officials said.

The victims, whose names were not released Sheriff’s Station officials, were taken to the hospital with wounds that were not life-threatening, said Lt. Mark Hershey of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.

An alleged fight within the VU, involving a group of people, spilled out onto the street and ended with the stabbing, officials said. Alcohol was involved in the incident.

Arvizu was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, a felony charge, at 2 a.m. Saturday, according to Sheriff’s Station arrest records.

Arvizu’s bail was initially listed at $120,000 bail, and then $1 million. However, he was released at 9 a.m. Tuesday shortly after his initial arraignmen, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Information Center website.

Vagos at the Vu ? Say it aint so, that bar is alway one step ahead of the law (payoffs) still work the the scv … That’s so old-school, biker villians in the 21th century, being bikers “colors colors colors” as iceT once said that is as lame as cop wearing a cape. policing vice in the scv is still as phucked up as when I lived in town you damn townies just can’t get a life. Half of you are on smack or pill that mimics smack you all drive drunk plus god forbid a brown person crosses the tracks and wants a drink at the vu. (Apartheid) much. That bar needs to shut down how many people have to go to the hospital before the ABC acknowledges the over pouring issues that have gone on for years.
