The College of the Canyons Job & Career Center will present its fifth annual CareerCampSCV event, providing students and community members with a rewarding, educational and extremely interesting day of career-themed speakers and workshops.
CareerCampSCV will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, in the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center, located on the college’s Valencia campus (University Center Drive entrance).
Described as a hybrid “conference/un-conference,” CareerCampSCV differs from other career-related events due to the fact that the day’s discussions and activities will be created based on the interests and involvement of the attendees.
Participants are welcome to come listen, and/or choose to start and lead a discussion or workshop.
The event will include ad-hoc presentations, guest speakers and interactive breakout sessions focused on the various aspects of both building and improving one’s professional career.
“Attendees will have a daylong opportunity to network with individuals at all levels of their career, from seasoned speakers to job seekers transitioning to a new career, to new grads just entering their particular field,” said Anthony Michaelides, director of the COC Job & Career Center. “No matter your age, experience or career aspirations, there is bound to be something important that you can take away from this event.”
CareerCampSCV admission and parking are free, however, those planning to attend this event must register in advance, as space is limited.
