Attend a Search and Rescue Information Session

The Santa Clarita Search and Rescue Team is a volunteer group formed to promote safety in the mountains and outdoor recreational areas used by the people of the community.
The team assists the Sheriff’s Department or any disaster agency in search and rescue work in the local outlying areas at their request. The group is department-trained as Emergency Medical Technicians and in mountain search and rescue techniques.
Members are on call by pager 24/7/365 for rescue operations that include:
* Missing persons or injured or stranded hikers (cliffhangers);
* Cars over the side of the highway;
* Persons stranded by swift water;
* Snow and ice rescue – lost skiers and avalanche recovery.
