The City of Santa Clarita was recently named among America’s top cities for families in a 2014 survey conducted by personal finance social network WalletHub. Santa Clarita came in at number 21 on the list of America’s “Best Cities for Families,” far ahead of Los Angeles (109), Glendale (68), Oxnard (37) and San Diego (27).
For the 2014 survey, WalletHub ranked the 150 largest cities in the United States based on series of family dynamics, including the availability of quality jobs, the relative cost of housing, the quality of local school and health care systems, and the opportunities for fun and recreation.
“The City of Santa Clarita is dedicated to providing quality services and amenities for residents of all ages, and we are proud to be recognized as one of America’s best cities for families,” commented Mayor Laurene Weste. “The City’s efforts, combined with our exceptional public safety, beautiful neighborhoods, award-winning schools and top notch recreational opportunities, are just some of the many reasons why so many families choose to call Santa Clarita home.”
