1934 - Bouquet Canyon Reservoir, replacement for ill-fated St. Francis Dam & reservoir, begins to fill with water [story]
Bouquet Reservoir

A Canyon Country family found a son hanging from a tree in the wash behind Soledad Canyon Road, near Camp Plenty Road, in Santa Clarita, officials said Thursday.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials received a report around 3 p.m., according to Lt. Rob Hahnlein of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Initial reports indicate the death is a suicide, but Homicide detectives are still on their way to the scene.

  101. Tyger White Tyger White says:

He was a 24-year-old kid. Family is from El Salvador. They live in my apartment complex. The kid was not a homeless druggie. His parents loved him and from what I could tell, he was really close with his father. Who knows why he chose this path? So sad. My husband took his life almost a year ago in the same manner (hung himself in a tree in Santa Clarita…..only they didn’t find him for a few days and I never saw it reported in the news). I wish that suicide would never be an option…..problems can seem so overwhelming when seen from a first-person perspective….my heart goes out to his mother, father, and sister.

  102. Another suicide…..this is just sooo sad. It seems as tho it is happening more and more these days. Praying for his family, cant even imagine the emotional pain and suffering this brings not to mention the guilt. I have had this happen in my extended family and I know there is so much involved. May this young man rest in peace. Prayers for the family. Sad very sad.
