Trinity Classical Academy’s Distinguished Speaker Series will feature two of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Directors of Ministries, Chris Rix, Fox Broadcaster and former Florida State Quarterback, and Les Robinson, Trinity’s Head Football Coach. This free event on Monday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m., will take place on campus, 28310 Kelly Johnson Parkway, Santa Clarita.
Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.
Chris Rix, playing under Bobby Bowden, is the first and only four-year starter as Quarterback (2001-2004) in Florida State history. Despite a severe ankle injury in his senior year, Rix ranks second in every major passing category at FSU. During his college career, the Seminoles claimed three Atlantic Coast Conference titles and appeared in four straight Bowl games. In 2005, Rix began his current broadcasting career as college football analyst for Fox Sports Radio. He has also done sideline reporting for college football and FOX NFL.
Former Assistant Football Coach for Saugus High School and Santa Clarita Christian School, Les Robinson (“Coach Rob”) has spent over twenty years coaching high school football and track and field, winning eight straight league titles and four San-Joaquin
CIF Championships along the way. Coach Rob was brought on as Head Football Coach for Trinity Classical Academy last spring, and ended his first season with a record of 8-1 with a 52-0 Homecoming Game, which will take the team into CIF Playoffs. Also a pastor, who most recently served as Senior Pastor at The Burning Bush in Valencia, Robinson is able to help young people develop a meaningful relationship with God through the camaraderie of sports, sharing his own testimonies, along with those of professional athletes.
From very humble beginnings, Trinity Classical Academy has grown from 28 students to over 550 in Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade, making it one of the largest classical schools in the country. The mission of Trinity Classical Academy has remained consistent: to offer a challenging education grounded in the Christian faith and the classical tradition, to produce young men and women of virtue, wisdom, purpose and courage.
Since its inception, Trinity has been committed to extending educational opportunities and enriching the academic culture beyond the classroom and into the community. The Distinguished Speaker Series features leaders, pioneers and trailblazers in their fields whose life choices have influenced others and changed lives.
