Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded Tuesday to reports of a man standing on the roof of his Canyon Country house, the same location where deputies responded to a call last Tuesday.

Last week, Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a man at the same location, on the 29400 block of Abelia Road, who was threatening to kill himself in an armed standoff.

“This is a different man but at the same house,” said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “We have deputies on scene.”

A neighbor who contacted KHTS AM 1220 reported that the man was “on the roof with a gun.” Deputies have not confirmed this report and are working to resolve the situation.

In a previous report, the neighbor said there have been numerous incidents reported to the address in the past, and said residents of the area “have been alert.”

UPDATE 9:47 a.m.

The neighbor reported that Sheriff’s deputies have been trying to get the man out of the home and two other people have come out with their hands up.

UPDATE 10:18 a.m.

“We got a call at 8:12 a.m. that an 18-year-old man wearing camouflage was sitting on the roof with a gun/pellet gun. Deputies believe it was a pellet gun,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “When we arrived, we determined a crime had not been committed. Deputies are detaining two people and conducting an under the influence narcotic investigation.”

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are continuing to investigate this incident.
