[CHP] – The California Highway Patrol will accept applications in March from individuals interested in a career as a CHP officer. The CHP is looking to hire cadets from a pool of applicants to fill vacant officer positions throughout the state.
“The CHP is looking for men and women who represent the diverse communities that we serve to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security to the people of California,” said CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow. “This is your opportunity to become a member of one of the greatest law enforcement agencies in the world.”
Informational seminars are being held in each Division throughout the state on February 28, 2015, to show accomplishments by women in the CHP. Although the seminars are designed to showcase accomplishments by women, all persons interested in a career in law enforcement are strongly encouraged to attend. Applications will only be accepted online during a four-day period beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, and ending at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Those interested in applying, or seeking additional information, should visit www.chpcareers.com.
“If you are looking for a career, not just a job, then we have a spot for you in our Department,” added Commissioner Farrow. “We invite all interested members of our communities to apply during the four-day application period.”
Minimum qualifications for candidates include: must be 20-35 years old, a U.S. citizen, have no felony convictions, and be a high school graduate. Each applicant will be required to complete the entire testing process including a physical ability test, written test, background investigation, medical/vision evaluation, and psychological evaluation.

Good luck with your 100 ticket a month quota… After my hubby was a loyal officer for 5 years apparently 85 tickets a month was low activity and he was punished for giving verbals! If you want to screw over the public this is the agency for you!
I am surprised it is only 100 tickets a month quota. That’s only about 5 a day. when the chp pulls you over it isn’t likely you’ll get a warning like other agencies give.
