The nationally recognized West Point Glee Club will give a public performance this weekend for Santa Clarita residents.
The choir, made up of cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, will give a public performance at the Canyon Theatre Guild in Newhall on Sunday, March 15, at 6:30 pm.
First organized in 1903, the West Point Glee Club is now a 70-voice co-ed chorus which serves as West Point’s musical ambassador and ranks among our nation’s most prestigious college choirs.
Under the direction of Constance Chase since 1999, the Glee Club regularly performs in America’s finest concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
The Glee Club is in frequent demand for nationally televised appearances such as the Fiesta Bowl, Super Bowl XXXIX, Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden and Lifetime Network.
Historically the Glee Club has shared the spotlight with such notable performers as Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore, Roberta Peters and Billy Joel.
The camaraderie enjoyed by members in their pursuit of musical excellence is best summed up in the club’s time-honored motto: No fun without music, no music without fun.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see one of America’s premier Glee Clubs perform audience favorites from contemporary composers such as Daniel Elder and Bob Chilcott as well as patriotic selections that honor our nation’s heritage (The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Armed Forces Medley, Mansions of the Lord).
A suggested donation of $10 that can be paid at the event to help offset club expense. The Canyon Theatre Guild is located at 24242 Main St., Newhall, CA 91321.

[Trinity Classical Academy] – The West Point Glee Club, U.S. Military Academy’s prestigious college choir and highly-sought after troop for nationally syndicated television events, will give Trinity families, student body, faculty and staff a private performance Tuesday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. on Trinity Classical Academy’s campus (28310 Kelly Johnson Parkway, Santa Clarita, 91355). “The entire Trinity community is bursting with excitement that The West Point Glee Club has made special time just for us, and that our 2014 Valedictorian Spencer Klehn, will be on-hand to introduce them,” said Trinity’s Founder and Head of School, Liz Caddow. “They have performed at such venues as the Kennedy Center, the Grand Ole Opry, Lincoln Center, the Super Bowl, and now Trinity Classical Academy! We are so humbled and honored for this incredible blessing for our students, staff and families.”
For well over a decade, Constance Chase has directed The West Point Glee Club performances around the world, as well as when they recorded the original hymn, “Mansions of the Lord,” for the Paramount feature film “We Were Soldiers,” as well as “‘Til the Last Shot’s Fired,” with country artist Trace Adkins, which they performed with him live at the “Academy of Country Music Awards.” They also represent the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Army at official events, and enhance cadet-life through its traditional ceremonial duties. The camaraderie enjoyed by Glee Club members in their pursuit of performance excellence is best summed-up in the Club’s time-honored motto: No fun without music; no music without fun!
Founded in 2001, Trinity Classical Academy has grown from 28 students to over 550 in Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade, making it one of the largest classical schools in the country. The mission of Trinity Classical Academy has remained consistent: to offer a challenging education, grounded in the Christian faith and the classical tradition, to produce young men and women of virtue, wisdom, purpose and courage.
