The majority of the Mustangs toed the line in a deep field for the 1500-meter event. Notably, Skyler Mikesell (Ft. Wayne, IN) and Josh Sherfey (Stevenson Ranch, CA) keyed off one another to finish strong, placing fourth and sixth with respectable times of 3 minutes and 59.17 seconds and 4:00.38, respectively.
In the 100-meter event, Sam Jaimes (Canyon Country, CA) bagged a third-place finish with a time of 11.48 seconds. Later in the afternoon, both Jaimes and Andrew Sanchez (Van Nuys, CA) took on the 200-meter event, finishing in first and second-place in their respective heats with times of 23.4 and 22.8.
A pack of Mustangs also made their mark in the 800-meter event with notable performances from both Sanchez and Mikesell, running times of 1:57 and 1:59.
Next week, a portion of the Mustangs will travel south and toe the line at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego on March 27.
