Hailey Gomillion signs with Masters College Womens Soccer
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College women’s soccer team has continued to prepare for its 2015 campaign by signing Lancaster, California, native, Hailey Gomillion.
“I chose to attend The Master’s College because it will provide me the opportunity to grow spiritually and continue my athletic career,” commented Gomillion. “It has been a dream of mine to play collegiate soccer since I was young, and I now have this opportunity thanks to Coach Curtis. I look forward to playing on a team where Christ is the center of all things. I have had an opportunity to meet many of the girls, and they have made me excited to be a Lady Mustang next year. I am excited to attend TMC because I will have the opportunity to room and play soccer with my sister, Whitney. I also have confidence that I will receive a high-quality education that will properly prepare me for my future career in business.”
Gomillion enters her time at The Master’s College with an impressive resume boasting academic and athletic accolades earned on both the high school and club levels.
Academically, Gomillion received Quartz Hill High School’s Principal’s Honor Roll from her freshman through her senior years, earned an academic letter all four years, was an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate her junior and senior years, was a Junior Honor Guard in the 11th grade, was a member of the California Scholarship Federation from the 9th-12 grade, and was a member of the National Honors Society from the 10th-12th grade.
Gomillion’s athletic resume consists of being a captain of the Palmdale Thunder Soccer Girls 96 club team where she was also the leading scorer and assist leader, serving as a captain of Quartz Hills High School tennis team, being named the Golden League Doubles Champion of girls tennis in the 12th grade, and being named to the Antelope Valley Press Girls’ Tennis First-Team in the 11th grade.
Looking ahead to her time as a Lady Mustang, Gomillion’s desire is, “…to help my team perform at a high level and play to my best ability every day. It is my goal to be an encouragement and leader to my new teammates. I hope to help the Lady Mustangs’ squad become GSAC champions and continue on to more successful runs to the NAIA National Championships. I am excited at the opportunity to play on a team where I can grow as a soccer player and glorify God in my play.”
TMC women’s soccer head coach Curtis Lewis affirms Gomillion’s goals.
“I first met Hailey at a club-level camp I was helping out with a few years ago and she immediately impressed me with her level of play,” commented Lewis. “She’s got great vision and is a good passer of the ball. I feel that she is going to be a fantastic addition to our team and I’m excited that she’ll have an opportunity to play with Whitney, her older sister.”
Lewis expects Gomillion to compete for the Lady Mustangs as a midfielder.
When not competing on the soccer field, Gomillion looks to major in Business Administration for a career as a corporate manager.
In 2014, TMC went 13-6-1 overall and 7-2-1 in conference play. Looking ahead, after parting ways with eight seniors, the Lady Mustangs return a roster full of talent that will prime them for another strong season.
