Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2
Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for the week of 4/20/2015 to 4/26/2015
The following crime were reported in Zone 2, Castaic/Val Verde:
A theft from a vehicle was reported from the 30000 block of Cedar Oak Lane. An Apple I-pad and its cover were taken from the unlocked vehicle. The crime occurred on 4-20-15.
A theft from a vehicle was reported from the 31000 block of Cherry Drive. The catalytic converter was stolen off of a Toyota Sequoia. The crime occurred on 4-21-15.
There were two thefts from a vehicle reported from 30000 block of Marigold Circle. A “Magellan” GPS, “Fossil” watch, Ray ban glasses and “Beats” headphones were among the items reported stolen. It is unknown how the suspect made entry into the vehicles. Both crimes occurred on 4-26-15 during the early morning hours.
There were two semi-truck and trailer thefts reported from the 32000 block of Castaic Road. Both semis were Kenworth models with trailer attached. One of the trailers was recovered off of Smokey Bear Road in Gorman. The trucks were reported stolen between 4-20-15 and 4-23-15.
A vehicle theft was reported from the 31000 block of Ridge Route Road. A 2002 Honda CVR motorcycle was stolen on 4-20-15 between 3:00 and 6:00 A.M.
A burglary was reported from the 28000 block of Chiquito Canyon Road. The front door to the residence was “kicked in and the house was ransacked. Among the items stolen were a PlayStation 4, Tablet, smart watch and a gold necklace. The items were valued at $860. The crime occurred on 4-24-15 between 7:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
A residential burglary was reported from the 30000 block of The Old Road. The front door to the residence was “kicked” in and the house was ransacked. Among the items stolen were a “Bose” radio, “Toshiba” laptop, small wood jewelry box and a gold chain. The items were valued at $2575. The crime occurred on 4-24-15 between 7:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.
A commercial burglary was reported from the 31000 block of Castaic Road. The night deposit box at the Chase bank had a “sticky” mouse trap tied to a string inside. The bank staff was uncertain if any deposit slip were missing.
