datingadviceWhen dating leads to marriage and a family, it’s time to choose a great place to live – and according to the website DatingAdvice.com, Santa Clarita California is one of the best in the nation.

Citing Santa Clarita’s excellent education, public safety and entertainment “for the sake of your children,” Los Angeles County’s third largest city was named one of 19 United States cities selected as “the best cities for raising a family.”

According to DatingAdvice.com: “With family-friendly environments and proximity to important resources, you can’t go wrong with a gorgeous city in Southern California where the weather is always great and there are countless things to do. The perfect combination of small-town charm and urban sophistication make Santa Clarita a very comfortable and safe environment for a new family.”

“With award-winning educational facilities, western heritage, endless options for dining and numerous trails, you and your family can prosper mentally and physically.”

“Santa Clarita is a great place to live, work and raise a family.  We cultivate a family-friendly, active and healthy community for our residents to enjoy.  What’s more, Santa Clarita is getting better all the time,” said Mayor Marsha McLean.

Santa Clarita has previously been named: one of the best cities to live in California by CNN Money Magazine; 10th Most Economically Diverse City in America by WalletHub.com, 2015; Top five Most Business-Friendly Cities in Los Angeles County by the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), 2014; named among Best Cities for Young Families by NerdWallet.com, 2014; named Second Safest Mid-Sized City in America by Movoto.com, 2014; and Top 20 Cities for Job Seekers in California by NerdWallet.com, 2014.

  3. Gee…there’s no mention about the deep well injection site that the Sanitation District wants to install underneath our neighborhoods that will pollute this whole valley!

  5. And no mention of the 2 shooting today

  6. Yeah right, again i would too agree 15 yrs ago

  7. It WAS until it became Little Los Angeles.

    “countless things to do”

  9. Sarah Cohen Sarah Cohen says:

This town has grown to suck. Go north.

  10. Crowded “distinguished” Schools with
30 kids per classroom , drug issues in High Schools and lots of homicides. It’s nice if you like bike trails

  11. And don’t forget about all the jaded, whiny ass people ^^^^^^

  12. I grew up there for 20 years. I HAD to leave. It’s overcrowded and people are snobby. Not to mention crime has gone up significantly. Texas is now my home, and it’s amazing! Love visiting socal once in awhile, but nothing beats Texas.

    • You didn’t live in the right neighborhood then. I’ve lived in mine for almost 50 yrs. great neighbors. Yards aren’t all perfect. Houses aren’t all beige.kids are well mannered. Crime is low. Weeds abound in some yards but 99 %are well kept. No CC&Rs but no tattletales either.lolLove this city of Santa Clarita and if you don’t, move on

    • I lived in a beautiful neighborhood. My parents are still there. The houses are all different, huge yards, etc….but doesn’t take away the fact that scv has become very crowded and all the kids are into drugs and snobby. Everyone thinks they’re entitled there.

Hence why I did ‘move on.’ I moved to Texas.

I don’t think so. People getting stabbed to death, run over, shot and the drugs in that City are out of control. If I had to do over again I would not have raised my kids there.

    • Blake Frye Blake Frye says:

anywhere you go there are going to be violent crimes like that, sorry. Santa Clarita is still one of the top 10 safest places to live in California. Sure there are a lot of problems but people just look at all the negatives anyway.

You never know what you got until its gone!

    • Cindy Pipho says:

No sorry they may say it is but I was raised there. Good of how unsafe I will just make a point to point out the shooting yesterday. Come on the heroin and drugs and violence in that City is so out of control.. You have any idea what you are say. I lived in the for 40+ years. How old are you. I bet my kids are older then you. Be careful when you tell a mother who son was stabbed 16 times and then run over just how that City is. I hope nothing ever happens to someone you love like that or matter of fact in anyway. You opinion will change drastically trust me.

  14. Anonymous says:

My 20 year old son thighs was stabbed to death Nov. 24, 2007. That City is full of drug dealers criminals and tone honest it’s very over rated.

  15. They say 2 days after a double homicide….

  16. Alan Difatta Alan Difatta says:

Pretty expensive to live there now…Nothing under $500,000..

  17. Very bad drug problem out here and so many just turn a blind eye!

  18. Joey Cavoto Joey Cavoto says:

It used to be better. Very expensive. Crime has gone up. Still better than the other valley.

  19. D.j. Smetana D.j. Smetana says:

Not anymore. Way overbuilt. Messed it up big time. And city mgnt keeps building with the threat of a water crisis

  20. I love it here!! Lived all over LA and the Valley and this place is still the best. Nothing is crime free or drug free unless you move to another state or small rural town.

  21. Greg Brown Greg Brown says:

So many negative responses from negative ppl. The rest of us are too busy enjoying all this town has to offer. Sheesh. Move along if you suffer so.

  25. Are you kidding. 2 more murders as of yesterday in canyon country. We are just like everywhere else. Good and bad.

  26. Not to mention the teenage suicides! And, they just keep on building while they force us to conserve water. I read another 499 homes are coming in over by Plum Canyon. Great! Where does the water come from?

  27. I do see a decline in the Canyon Country area too. Many homeless pan handlers now. Almost every shopping center you will encounter one. Did not use to be this way!

  28. Mike Weaver Mike Weaver says:

I have to agree it’s not as it seems to be anymore crime is up on the area just like the shooting yesterday.
