The 12th annual Bike to Work Day held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 was a big success with 25 local businesses joining the no-pollute commute.
A total of 225 reported employees participated in the event.
Winners of the Bike to Work challenge included Hahn & Associates in the small business category; the Newhall School District at Stevenson Ranch Elementary School in the medium business category; and B&B Manufacturing in the large business category.
Bike to Work Day participants were also entered into a local raffle and won prizes including a KHS commuter bicycle, high-quality cycling gear donated by Performance Cyclery and Bicycle Johns, gift certificates from Firehouse Subs, Chick Fil A, Peet’s Coffee, Topper’s Pizza, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse and Solita Restaurant, a one-month membership to the Paseo Club and more.
Santa Clarita’s Bike to Work Day took place during National Bike Week, held Sunday, May 10 to Saturday, May 16, 2015. The annual event prompts thousands of public and private employees statewide to join the no pollute commute by pledging to ride their bikes to work.
