The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close portions of Antelope Valley Freeway SR-14 from Golden State Freeway (I-5) to Sand Canyon Road as part of a pavement rehabilitation project.
Closures are as follows and subject to change.
Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, May 29
Northbound SR-14
· 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Up to three lanes between I-5 Freeway & Sand Canyon Rd
· 6 p.m. to 3 p.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sierra Highway & Sand Canyon Rd
Southbound SR-14
· 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to three lanes between Sand Canyon Rd & I-5 Freeway
· 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sand Canyon Rd & Sierra Highway
Friday, May 29, through Saturday, May 30
Northbound SR-14
· 7 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Up to three lanes between I-5 Freeway & Sand Canyon Rd
· 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sierra Highway & Sand Canyon Rd
Southbound SR-14
· 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Up to three lanes between Sand Canyon Rd & I-5 Freeway
· 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sand Canyon Rd & Sierra Highway
This project may require FULL Freeway closures. Advance notices will be provided.
Detours will be posted. New pavement will improve mobility and enhance safety for motorists. J McLoughlin Engineering Co. is the contractor on this $6 million project which is expected to complete in the summer of 2016.
Caltrans advises motorists to please “Be Work Zone Alert”.
