Rep. Steve Knight announced that Chairman Lamar Smith, R-Texas, of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee has appointed him to serve as vice chair of the Subcommittee on Energy.
Late last week, Smith announced that Knight would be second in command for the 15-member subcommittee. The subcommittee has jurisdiction over energy research and development, including managing and expanding current infrastructure as well as the implementation of new technologies.
“Energy has a huge impact on our daily lives, and I look forward to applying my knowledge of the subject to create policy that helps our communities,” said Representative Knight. “I am honored and excited to work with Energy Subcommittee Chairman Randy Weber (TX-14) in my new role to continue to develop the world’s best energy policy.”
Knight previously served on the Committee on Energy as in the California State Legislature, and spent time as Vice-Chair of the Committee while he was a member of the Assembly.
