Someone’s carelessness cost someone’s life. So sad.
Condolences. So sad. Cagers need to pay attention.
This is exactly why I stopped riding on the street. It doesn’t matter how safe you are or how proficient you are at operating a motorcycle – one careless driver can end your life in a heartbeat. It’s not just “cagers” either! I was nearly killed by a drunk on a Harley. And don’t think for a minute that education or legislation is going to change how other people drive. My favorite phrase I heard from a fellow motorcyclist was “latte-crazed soccer moms” who are not paying attention to anything outside their Suburban.
Uggh. That is true. But I love riding. I have had close calls as well. But not a drunk Harley. Yikes!!
I love motorcycles and riding too! I rode desert for 30 years and street for seven years. I was the southwest area director for a major motorcycle owners group and put nearly 100,000 miles of sport touring rides on two bikes. I finally hung up my boots after several close calls with people on the street and a couple of friends in body bags. Just be VERY cautious out there and assume you are invisible. There is no concept of right of way in a cemetery!
Yes, however you take a risk every time your out on the road weather your on foot, bike, motorcycle, or car. Everyone has moment where they make a careless mistake while on any form of transportation I just mentioned. I would never live my life saying I won’t do something simply because of a risk. I would never leave my house.

People who drive cars suck!!!
Leo was my husband’s co worker. He was a good man and didn’t deserve this. He was on his way to work. I don’t ride a street motorcycle but I’ve almost been hit many times in my car in Santa Clarita. People need to wake up and keep their eyes on the road.
yes….they need to slow down, put down the cell phones and mascara and pay attention to the road. It’s terrible out here.
My brother did not need to die like this. He was 100% NOT at fault. That woman who plowed into him should be held accountable. She took my brother, a father, a husband, a son who loved his motorcycle. My mom is beyond inconsolable… RIP my beautiful little brother.
Sylvia, I was the driver waiting to turn left on to sand canyon and am probably the only one that saw the whole thing. So sorry for your family! That lady not only changed your lives forever but mine as well…I realize that I am your brothers only voice, and will fight for him till the bitter end. One article said she was going approx 45 mph but she knocked me back 65ft and I drive a heavy duty truck that had a trailer attached. Chp told me she was going at least 70mph.
Leo was my dearest friends only brother.. a very good man – son, brother, husband and father. This type of tragedy will forever change the lives of Leo’s loved ones. Senseless… very tragic. My thoughts and prayers go out to Leo’s mom, sisters, wife & children and all of Leo’s friends.
