Tip of the week: Fireworks Are ILLEGAL In Santa Clarita.
We are so close to the 4th of July, and many of us are excited for that. But we must all remember that we are in an extreme drought, the hills around our city are extremely dry, and we have already had a major fire off Calgrove Blvd which required the evacuation of several homes. All fireworks, including those labeled ‘Safe and Sane’ are ILLEGAL in Santa Clarita.

Penalties for possession or use of fireworks can range from a fine of up to one thousand dollars ($1000), to confinement in a county jail for up to one year.
But this doesn’t mean that the City of Santa Clarita does not want you to enjoy the holiday. There are three professional firework shows that will take place at the Westfield Mall, Magic Mountain, and Stevenson Ranch, all of which can be seen from just about anywhere in the city. Grab some chairs and a cooler, bring you family, and enjoy the professional and SAFE fireworks. Happy 4th of July.
