A man was transported to the hospital Friday morning after crashing into a power pole near the New Apostolic Church on Bouquet Canyon Road.
According to witnesses, the man lost control while driving his truck about 8:30 a.m. before crashing. He was able to exit the vehicle, though visibly injured.
Emergency responders and Southern California Edison were called onto the scene to assist the injured man and assess the damage of the power pole.
The power is expected to be out in the area until 11:30 a.m. Friday, according to the SoCal Edison website. About 340 customers are without power.
One person was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital via ground ambulance, said a representative with the Los Angeles County Fire Department Public Information Office.
Due to the active power line, traffic was diverted around the crash site.

Hey Ashley Freude they did put a sign down there by Vasquez where they should have put a sign is down by plum Canyon or David way for us that have to come this way since a lot of us live right by the accident and literally have to drive all the way around there is no warning until you get to the accident site that you can’t come through

If you don’t have anything edible in the house that you can prepare without power, let this be a wake up call to be prepared for the possibility of earthquake or another power outage. After Northridge we lost power for a day and then water for two more days, and Valencia and Newhall were far worse off than we were in east Canyon Country. Have canned food (and a can opener!), nonperishable dry food, a charcoal barbecue and briquettes or a camping stove and fuel.
