The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, is back Sept. 3 with an exciting lineup of events on Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

Beginning on Thursday, September 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., ArtSLAM will feature the culinary arts with delectable samplings from Newhall Refinery, Persia Lounge, Royal Tandoor, Pizscotti and Culinary Wonders. Local artist, Lorelle Miller, will spice things up with a live painting demonstration using just herbs, spices and seasonings.

At 7:30 p.m. participants can dance the Rueda de Casino at JAM Sessions, hosted by Ford Theatre Foundation. Urban dance theatre company CONTRA-TIEMPO will lead an exploration of a Cuban form of Salsa.

Revved Up on Thursday, September 10 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will feature a Low Rider Car Show, bluegrass tunes from Bullfish, food trucks and beer garden. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for consideration in Revved Up can apply online.

Residents can Cha Cha their way to the Tropicana Club on Main Street for a Hot Havana Nights block party with SENSES on Thursday, September 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Participants can enjoy an evening of Cuban cuisine and live music from Susie Hansen Latin Band.

The September Thursdays@Newhall events finish on Thursday, September 24 with the ARTree Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the CalArts Community Arts Partnership and the City of Santa Clarita, and SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series.

From 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the ARTree Speaker Series will host award-winning artists and animators Will Kim and Jian Lee. The experimental filmmakers will screen some of their short films and discuss digital media, animation and how to teach the next generation of artists.

Meanwhile, SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series with acoustic folk band Tracy Newman and the Reinforcements beginning at 8:00 p.m. at the Repertory East Playhouse located at 24266 Main Street. Tickets can be purchased here.

A free evening of arts, dance, and music on Main Street. Dance the Rueda de Casino, a fun form of Cuban salsa, with Urban Latin dance company CONTRA-TIEMPO.  Explore the work of visual artists, as well as delectable samplings of spiced foods from various SCV restaurants. JAM Session starts at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, September 17 – 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Hot summer days lead to Hot Havana Nights as SENSES throws a free block party on Main Street. Cha-cha-cha on the dance floor to the sultry salsa beats of the Susie Hansen Latin Band, purchase dinner at an authentic Cuban cuisine food truck, and order a mojito from the bar.

Award-winning experiemental filmmakers Jian Lee and WIll Kim show their short films and discuss digital media, animation, and teaching the next generation of artists.

SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series
