Cash Mob

Through a partnership with the City of Santa Clarita we are bringing Cash Mobs to the Valley!

Cash Mobs are flash mobs, but instead of singing and dancing, we spend money as a group!  We target the small, local businesses that make our community special in order to give these businesses additional exposure. In doing this we help businesses grow, we make people happy, and we have a great time! Our first Cash Mob is scheduled for November 15, 2015. Members will be able to submit their Cash Mob offering electronically – more details coming soon. To join our special Cash Mob email list for updates on days and times, use the button on the right, “Yes I Want to Cash Mob”,  to sign up for email and text announcements today.

Chamber Merges with Latino & Castaic Chambers
This year the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce has successfully merged with The SCV Latino Chamber and the Castaic Chamber.  In doing this, we have significantly amplified our voice for business and grown our membership.

As part of the agreement with the Latino Chamber, we have created a committee, The SCV Chamber Latino Business Alliance, whose mission it is to “Bridge the gap between Latino and non-Latino owned businesses.”  This committee has been busy coordinating an outstanding Lunch & Learn and the Latino Heritage Gala.  Any member can join this Committee, which meets on the Second Thursday of every month at 8:00 am in the Chamber office.

We will also continue to serve, support, and lobby on behalf of the businesses and residents in the Town of Castaic.  Soon you will see mixers and grand openings being hosted by our members there.  We will also be participating in the annual Santa Float hosted by the Castaic Lions Club.  If you would like to volunteer to be a part of this fun event, please contact Cheryl Ramirez at cramirez@scvchamber.com.

Chamber Launches Retail Committee

We listened…
And at the request of our membership, we launched our NEW Retail Committee in July.  The scope of this committee is to support, grow, and cultivate the diverse retail businesses in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Our first meetings have been well attended and lively, as we continue to set the scope and vision of the Group.  Some items of interest that have come out of these first few meetings are:
  • Cash Mob
  • Cross Promoting each other (there have been some great synergies created)
  • Santa Clarita’s residents prefer shopping with businesses they have relationships with
