Happy Veterans Day

November 11th is Veterans Day. Please join me in honoring all those who have served our nation and sacrificed their lives so that our families and our way of life may be protected. For events and ceremonies around the 25th District you can attend, please check out the ‘Around the Corner’ section of this newsletter. If you can’t make it to a service, please thank a veteran when you see one around town. And to those of you who are service members, past or present: thank you and God bless.

Around the District

Another Defense Authorization Bill
On November 5th the House passed an updated version of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2016. This legislation is about supporting our men and women in uniform and about building a strong national defense right here in our own community. While Washington, D.C. may be gridlocked, the NDAA is a perfect opportunity for all sides to come together and deliver a win-win for the American people.

Tele Town Hall
Last Wednesday I held a Tele Town Hall with folks in Simi Valley, Granada Hills, Northridge, Chatsworth and Canoga Park. Thanks to everyone who listened in and participated!

A Great Tele Town Hall

Highway Reauthorization
On Thursday the House passed H.R. 22 Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2015. By supporting this legislation we are ensuring certainty and stability for our infrastructure, which means more jobs and safer communities. More information here.
