The College of the Canyons men’s golf team finished in first place at Monday’s WSC tourney at Santa Maria Country Club, with all five Cougars scoring in the 70s — including three of the day’s top five scores.
COC freshman Jaeyeol Kim carded a score of 71 to finish in the tournament’s No. 2 spot.
Fellow freshman Matt Cheng was one stroke off that mark with a score of 72, good for third place at the event. Ben Campbell’s score of 73 tied for fourth.
Rounding out the COC top-five were Jason McGuinness (74) and Will Barnett (76).
COC’s five-man score of 366 outpaced second place Ventura College (374) and third place Santa Barbara City College (379).
Canyons will next tee-off Monday, April 11, for a WSC tourney at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.
