    • Alex Richardson says:

I’m not sure if this is the same bear, but I had a visitor in my garage Thursday night. I live on Oakdale Canyon Lane in Fair Oaks Ranch. Larger and loghter / brown. Neighbors were all outside and when I came out to to see what noise was about, I was just a few feet from a 250 – 300lb visitor! He was obviously hungry and scared. He had no problem hopping over 6′ walls amd fences.

  14. Debbie DiPrimio says:

Wonder if this is the bear that several folks saw in Circle J Ranch area in the homes behind the security gate on Friday night (5/13/2016). The Sheriff came out but he had disappeared by the time they got here. It’s a long way for a bear to travel; however, the one seen had an orange tag on his ear as well.

  15. BCrosby says:

I recently saw the Bear on the California Flag.

I think the Bears have the right of way! Proceed with caution-both Humans & Bears!

  16. If you don’t want to share your habitat with bears, mountain lions, Bobcats and the rest of the wild life that lives here naturally, then take yourselves out of their habitat and move!

  17. They need to secure their trash for starters to stop encouraging the bears.

Uh, let’s see..Robinson Ranch is the closest major development to the semi-wild San Gabriel Mountains in the SCV. It also has lots of water features, and the homes within it and nearby are largely landscaped and well watered. Not to mention the swimming pools and hummingbird feeders.

Why not put out salt licks and pork fat packs to get the bears comfy with living with people? As long as the drought lasts, and the bear’s natural feeding areas are thin they are just going to do what we all would do. They’re going to head for the easiest and safest place to get food and water. Now if they only had a wilderness access to Venice Beach…

  20. Wendy Taylor Wendy Taylor says:

Rob Taylor, Spice was at it again.

  21. Could be a different bear. This is close to Sand Canyon & Placerita.

  22. James Duff be aware of BEARS!!!!!

  23. Debbie Hanna Debbie Hanna says:

    OMG Lindsey Hanna !!!

  24. Bears are a more common sight since the 2009 station fire, they have always been here but now they have to search out food. Secure your garbage in a enclosure or freeze it until trash morning. Don’t leave anything out that will encourage them visiting … That includes pet food and hummingbird nectar, clean off your BBQ ..
A fed bear is a dead bear. This guy is tagged, which means he will most likely be killed if captured not simply moved.

  25. Vicky says:

Hopefully any resident living on the outskirts near a National Forest makes every effort NOT to have attractants in their yards. Any bears first visit to a property is because it has access to easy attractants or water. Attractants would be Birdseed, Nectar, unprotected backyard fruit trees, beehives, unprotected chicken coops (no electric fence for bears), uncleaned BBQ (clean the grease trap, too), dog poop (not all dog food digests and bears will eat it), unprotected garbage, outside pet food & water bowls, unprotected livestock & horse feed (bear proof containers are available), any scented items left outside (candles, shampoo/conditioner, sunscreen), blood meal & other fertilizers, and so on.

  26. Vicky says:

    DOGS & BEARS
It’s very important to supervise Dogs on potty breaks – check your yard area before letting a dog out. If walking or jogging in the area, keep your dog(s) leashed with you.

  27. Nadiya Littlewarrior says:

    Actually, it is his backyard……

  28. Nick Ventura says:

I found it in Sand Canyon!
