Weekly Crime Tip: Protecting against Bike Theft
The majority of bicycle thefts occur because bicycles are often left unsecured or unattended. They’re often stolen from places that are assumed to be a safe when in reality they are not, like balconies and secured parking garages. It is important to record your bicycle’s serial number and take a photo of your bicycle. This will aid in the recovery if your bicycle is stolen. To avoid being a victim of bicycle theft, always lock your bicycle when keeping it in a garage or on a porch.
