GULF SHORES, Ala. – On Saturday, Karis Frankian became the first athlete from The Master’s College women’s track & field program to earn an individual championship title after she placed first overall in the 5,000m final in 17 minutes and 16.51 seconds at the 36th Annual Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Frankian’s performance earned her NAIA All-American honors in the 5,000m for the second time in her prolific career at The Master’s College.
Frankian is also a four-time Golden State Athletic Conference champion in the 5,000m (2013-2016), earning All-GSAC honors each season.
Notably, earlier in the day, younger sister Abigail Frankian competed in the 3,000m steeplechase where she placed 10th overall at 11:14.96.
As a team, TMC tied for 18th overall with 18 points out of a field of 66 competing teams.
