Stevenson Ranch: Crime Report for the Week of July 4-10, 2016
The following crimes were reported during the week:
07/06/16
Vehicle Burglary – 24200 block of The Old Rd.-Person(s) unknown shattered the passenger side window of a vehicle and stole numerous items including night vision goggles, a backpack, and a “Coleman” cooler.
Grand Theft – 25500 block of Fountain Glen Ct. – Person(s) unknown stole boxes covered by a tarp located in the parking lot next to the victim’s vehicle. The boxes contained miscellaneous tools.
07/10/16
Petty Theft – 25600 block of The Old Rd. -A store employee discovered discarded packaging for six wigs in the woman’s restroom. The store employee believed a customer, who has been inside the location on numerous prior occasions acting “suspicious,” was responsible for the theft.
Grand Theft – 26100 Shadow Rock Ln. -Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s jewelry from an unknown location inside her residence. The victim stated she had repairs done while she was away from home and believed that the theft occurred during this time.
Prevent Vehicle Theft
It can take seconds for a thief to steal something from your car, so never leave valuables inside.
Most vehicle crime is preventable. Don’t make your car a target for thieves by leaving such sought after items such as purses, wallets, lap top computers and cell phones in plain view. Always check you have closed all your windows and locked the doors before leaving your car unattended. While there’s no surefire way to totally prevent your car from being broken into keeping these tips in mind can make your car less of a target.
