Please do!! This is a beautiful place all of our children can enjoy. There is so much that needs to be done between graffiti clean up and glass removal. Putting trash can back up there would be a major plus as well! It’s one of the last few free family areas that still exist from my childhood!
Ahhh the falls, had many a good time there..that is until my girl friend had to scoot on her butt down a slope and sat square on a pile of human poop and then slid down the rock, and then touched it, and then flipped out!!!! That promptly ended our hike!!! friggen disgusting…

Well, if y’all haven’t read the 556 page report (or at least the first 25 pages), I suspect you’re going to be surprised when and if the project is approved by all the relevant government agencies.
And anyone who commutes on Bouquet Canyon Road is going to be very surprised. Road closures M-F from 7am to 4pm? I hope the folks living north of Site 1 (where those cute little homes are tacked to the canyon wall, and commuters from West Palmdale, Leona Valley and Lake Elizabeth) don’t mind the drive over to San Francisquito Cyn Road in order to go south to the SCV or SFV.
Maybe they’ll allow special passes for local residents – subject to waiting for construction crews and vehicles to get off the road.
No matter what, at least somebody is trying to do something about the mess up there.

Too bad the Forest Service didn’t try to stop the proliferation of that nasty arundo donax. It looks a bit like bamboo, but is a non-native and very invasive plant. It spreads from roots beneath the soil and is extremely difficult to remove once it gets a good head start. It is also very thirsty, always grows where there is some water available.
Been there so many times, the last time, I told my daughters, “we shouldn’t come here anymore, it’s just too depressing!”
I can’t imagine how they enjoy destroying such a naturally beautiful place.

Did any of you commenters actually read what the plan is for Bouquet Cyn Road?
It will entail massive changes on the highway that connects Lake Hughes, Lake Elizabeth, Leona Valley, and Spunky Canyon to the Santa Clarita Valley.
Not to mention the high-speed racers that use this highway to get to work in LA. And of course they use the same route to get home in those northern valleys.
It ain’t going to be that way for quite a while. Fixing Bouquet Canyon Road is going to take a couple of years. You’d better make alternate choices if you expect to make it to work on time.
Please proceed with this project to restore the creek habitat. Return the flow of water in the creek to what it should be! The previous solution of shutting down the flow to a mere trickle has punished ALL Bouquet homeowners who depend on their wells as the sole source of water not to mention what it has done to damage wildlife and plant life. Proceed!
My urban family vacationed at bouquet canyon creek in the early 1960s. I wrote about it in a chapter of “the house at virgil street” and in a nook of poetry called “bouquet canyon”.
Please restore this creek to inspire other young children.
