Tip of the Week: Securing Personal Items While Using Hiking Trails
Santa Clarita offers many great trails and open spaces for hiking, running, and biking. However when we leave our vehicles, we cannot see them from the trails, and this is an excellent opportunity for thieves to burglarize our vehicle without being seen. When using these trails, consider only bringing what is necessary, like your car keys, driver’s license, and some cash or debit card, and keep those items with you while on the trails. If you must bring a purse or other high value items, consider placing the items in a backpack and keeping them with you. As a last resort, consider storing purses and high value items in the trunk of your car where they are out of view.
Take care, and be safe.
