A Little Music

On Tuesday I toured the Little School of Music, a Royal Conservatory Music Development Program Founding School, in Santa Clarita. We spoke about the importance of music education programs in schools and how they’re teaching students to love and appreciate music while having fun.

Engaging Engineers

After the Coffee I had the opportunity to speak to the students at the Lancaster University Center, where students in the Antelope Valley can obtain their B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. We discussed a range of topics, including the Aeronautics Innovation Act, which lays out a comprehensive roadmap for American aerospace with the goal of developing aeronautics programs that can face the challenges of the 21st century. Thank you to Dr. Ken Santerelli for allowing me to speak to the students. Keep up the great work!

On Wednesday I toured the Golden Oak Ranch (better known by Santa Claritians as the “Disney Ranch”). Steve and Lisa showed me around the property and explained the history behind the location. I also learned about their work in the community, including their efforts in assisting the USFS, LA County Fire, and local residents during the Sand Fire, and the vegetables they grow and donate to the local food bank.

After the tour we paid a visit to the SCV Senior Center, where we presented them with a new American flag in honor of their 40th Anniversary and answered questions about how our office can provide assistance with federal agencies like Social Security Administration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

  1. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/01/08/donald-trump-i-will-get-rid-of-gun-free-zones-on-schools/ Does Steve Knight want guns in schools like Trump? Steve Knight has an A rating with the NRA so I guess it’s safe to say he and Trump agree on this one. 90% of Americans want gun reform, yet Steve Knight votes against his constituents to line his pockets with blood money. Shame on you Steve Knight!
